Driving licensing and titling issues in Oregon are administered by Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division through its many offices in the state. Identification card issuance and renewal, and driver license testing, are also Division’s responsibility. However handling those issues can be often time-consuming and stressful. Scheduling appointments


To schedule appointment for a road test, you can go to your nearest office, or more convenient you can simply make a phone call. Commercial drivers can make an appointment by contacting a DMV office or a third-party test site, at least 48 hours in advance. Vehicle inspection appointments can be scheduled at the Clackamas, Gresham or Sunset County Emissions Inspection Stations. All you have to do is dial this number (503) 229-5066.


Locations and working hours


  • In addition of all the above mentioned matters, the Oregon DMV offices are in charge of administering knowledge and road tests as well. The offices are open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Third Party Testing Locations that handle issues like commercial licenses are open Monday-Friday. You can schedule you road test there, or at a DMV office that conducts these tests.
  • Emissions Inspection Stations are available for vehicle inspections. Operating hours for Clean Air Stations generally are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 am-5:30 pm and Saturday 8:30 am-1:00 pm. Some offices are closed on Mondays, or Saturdays. Once a week, the inspection stations are open until 9:00 pm.
  • All the paperwork sent by licensed dealers is handled by the Dealer Processing Centers.


*Note: Some of the locations are open on Saturdays as well, and don’t forget the legal holidays.
